Yoga with Jen Rodd
My name is Jen Rodd
Personal Introduction
I am a traditional Hatha Yoga teacher, certified through Yoga Alliance International. My approach is straightforward and grounded — I teach by demonstration, with clear instructions and detailed guidance. My classes are not about showing off impossible shapes or chasing trends. Instead, they are about learning each asana properly, building strength and endurance, and taking this practice home so you can deepen your yoga and meditation in your own time.
Yoga, to me, is about connection — bringing body and mind into balance through breath. It is both preparation and pathway to the higher state of meditation that the yoga scriptures describe. My students often discover strength and balance they didn’t know they had. Sometimes that means holding a pose longer than expected, sometimes it means surprising themselves with an asana like crow — always with a sense of pride, joy, and confidence.
I’ve practiced yoga long before it was fashionable, guided by teachers who trained with the original masters in India. I don’t pretend to be a guru; I’m a real person with a lifelong practice, and my goal is simply to share yoga with clarity, integrity, and heart.

Teaching Philosophy
My teaching is rooted in the principles of traditional Hatha Yoga: meditation, warm-ups, sun salutations, backbends, forward folds, twists, inversions, balances, breathwork, and finally deep rest in shavasana. Each class follows this rhythm, designed to prepare both body and mind for meditation.
I believe in holding postures longer to develop strength, endurance, and focus. Muscles may shake, balance may waver, but this is where growth happens — and with time, strength and confidence arise. Confidence brings peace, and peace opens the door to joy.
In my classes, students are encouraged to try, to explore, and sometimes to surprise themselves. My teaching is straightforward, encouraging, and grounded — never wishy-washy, never performative. My aim is that each person leaves not only with what they’ve practiced in class, but with tools to take into their own home practice, where the deepest transformation happens.
